Background

Premier Youngstock was created to build a foundation of quality mares being served by some of the best stallions from Europe via AI to produce quality youngstock in all three major disciplines of Showjumping, Dressage and Eventing.

Today Premier Youngstock, working closely with World Class Stallions can offer access to stallions that are competing or have sired offspring that have competed on the worlds largest stages including:

  • The Olympics
  • World & European Championships
  • Grandprix
Premier Youngstock have excellent facilities for mares including CCTV, large foaling boxes, relaxing pasture and paddocks all in the heart of the Berkshire countryside and offer a full AI service available for chilled semen.

The Service

Experience has taught us that there is a lot of time and skill involved, not only choosing the right stallion to compliment your mare but in the whole AI process to achieve the desired result.

The mares ovulation cycle is monitored over a 7 day period regularly by ultrasound, scanning her ovaries to give us the best possible picture of her progression cycle and therefore pin point accuracy prior to insemination.

The information gained from the ultrasound scan allows for the semen to be ordered and collected at the precise time for insemination, resulting in a higher conception rate and reduction in wastage of expensive semen.

A post insemination ultrasound scan conducted between 14 and 17 days will confirm either a positive or negative pregnancy. A further scan at 28 days will determine correct development of the foetus.

Terms and Conditions 2008
  • Mares will be artificially inseminated

All semen recommended/provided comes from stallions that have all been tested negative for C.E.M and E.V.A. Visiting mares require a negative C.E.M test before arrival along with a negative cervical swab which will be taken whilst the mare is in season prior to covering.
